VOTING RULES

The NIGERIA Academic Excellence Awards (NAEA) maintains a transparent, fair, and credible evaluation process to ensure that only deserving institutions and individuals are recognized.

The screening and judging process is conducted by the NAEA Judging Panel and Advisory Board, consisting of respected academics, education administrators, and industry experts.

The evaluation process is carried out in three (3) rounds:

Round I – Screening & Verification

Upon the close of nominations, the Awards Secretariat and Screening Committee will review all entries to verify compliance with the nomination criteria and accreditation requirements.

During this stage:

  • Institutional eligibility and regulatory approvals are verified.
  • Submitted achievements and supporting documents are reviewed.
  • Entries that do not meet the stated eligibility criteria will be disqualified.

Round II – Judging Panel Evaluation

Eligible nominations will be forwarded to the Judging Panel, who will evaluate entries using a structured scoring framework based on:

  • Academic impact and excellence
  • Innovation and research contributions
  • Institutional leadership and governance
  • Contribution to national education development
  • Evidence of measurable achievements

The panel will shortlist the highest-scoring nominees in each category.

Round III – Public Voting & Final Selection

Shortlisted nominees may be published on the official NAEA website for public voting, where applicable.

Final winners will be determined through a combination of judges’ scores and public voting results, as approved by the Advisory Board.
